Black and Latino Poverty Soars Since Pandemic

FEATURING DANILO TRISI – As Congress mulls whether or not to pass another economic stimulus package, data continue to show that the economic crisis facing the US before the pandemic hit has worsened since March. In particular, the racial wealth and income gap has widened considerably. Now, the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities shows that the number of people in families with below-poverty earnings has soared, especially among blacks and Latinos.
