But, journalism in a white supremacist setting has been, well, white supremacist, which in turn, has deeply harmed communities of color. When journalism is steeped in racist framing, it does more harm than good.

Now, a new project in Philadelphia aims to fix that. The Philadelphia Safer Journalism Project brings together community members, journalists, therapists, researchers, lawyers and artists to change harmful crime coverage.
