FEATURING THOMAS A. SAENZ – The Republican dominated House on Thursday passed the Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act with a vote of 233-175. The bill is aimed primarily at suspected members of the MS-13 gang which are a favorite target of many Republicans and President Trump.
The bill comes at the same time as members of Congress debate the fate of the so-called “Dreamers,” young immigrants who had received protection under President Obama’s DACA program but could be in limbo after Trump decided to phase out the program. Prominent Democrats recently met with the President to try to resolve the status of Dreamers but reports about a resolution are unclear.
