Hundreds Protest Immigrant Detention Center Near Seattle

FEATURING MARU MORA VILLALPANDO – Attorney General Jeff Sessions, speaking in Nogales, Arizona on Tuesday announced on new, tougher immigration enforcement measures. Sessions promised greater penalties for immigration violations such as charging undocumented immigrants with felonies rather than misdemeanors.

The move is likely to dramatically increase the number of immigrants that are detained and deported. Currently there are thousands of immigrants being held in detention centers in the US and today we go to the site of the largest such center on the West Coast.

Detainees at the Northwest Detention Center, run privately by GEO group, are currently on a hunger strike and are joined on the outside by activists that have been occupying the area since Tuesday.
