March for Science: Women Scientists At the Intersections of Race, Gender, Politics

Among the approximately 50,000 people who gathered in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday April 22nd to March for Science, were a large number of women and women scientists. As someone whose own background is in science, I’ve been particularly drawn to the women who spend their careers devoted to science and who struggle to get recognition for their work. Women of color in science face even greater challenges, because let’s face it, science is overwhelmingly dominated by white men.

During Saturday’s March for Science, I spoke with a number of women in science and today we bring you their voices.
