FEATURING LISA LINDSLEY – One of the largest chemical and pharmaceutical companies in the world is proposing a mega merger with one of the largest GMO and pesticide corporations. Bayer’s offer to buy Monsanto for a whopping $66 billion is creating waves of panic globally because the resulting behemoth would result in a monopoly of historic proportions.
In the words of the watchdog group SumOfUs, “Almost everything you eat could be controlled by a single mega-corporation, if Bayer gets its way and buys Monsanto.”
The proposed merger still has to convince US regulators that it would not violate anti-trust laws.
