FEATURING STEPHEN VITTORIA – Murder Incorporated: Empire, Genocide, and Manifest Destiny is a series of three books by award winning journalist and political prisoner Mumia Abu Jamal together with his co-author the documentary filmmaker Stephen Vittoria.
The ambitious book series explores the history of the United States and takes on the myth that the US is a beacon for freedom and democracy. It is a powerful antidote to the misguided nostalgia of white supremacists about the nation’s bloody history, showcasing in visceral terms how racism, slavery, genocide, and terrorism have long been the basis of the American project.
In this third and latest book, which has a foreword by Angela Davis, Abu Jamal and Vittoria take on what they call, “the most heralded features of American superiority—a free press, an independent judiciary, individual liberty, equal rights for women and minorities,” and show how, “these are often myths bent to the will of the Empire.”
Stephen Vittoria, award winning documentary filmmaker, whose films include Mumia: Long Distance Revolutionary.
