FEATURING MELISSA VALLIANT - The COVID-19 pandemic was by all accounts disastrous for humanity with nearly a million people in the United States alone having lost their lives. But it has also been an environmental disaster with an explosion of plastic-based protective products being consumed and discarded, and many localities rolling back pre-pandemic regulations that reduced or banned single-use plastic. The good news is that a new poll finds broad public support for addressing the on-going plastic pollution crisis that threatens our oceans, our biodiversity, and us.
