New Report Outlines Vision for Housing For All

FEATURING KATIE GOLDSTEIN– As inflation continues to drive up the price of goods, and increased gas prices strain the wallets of Americans, wages, especially in the low-wage sectors remain appallingly low. One of the predictable outcomes of this grim scenario is increased homelessness. Yet, instead of investing in affordable housing and low-cost rentals, cities are seeing a sharp rise in luxury housing and rentals.

Now, the Center for Popular Democracy, along with a number of other social justice organizations, has released a new report demanding what it calls, “Social Housing for All.” The report outlines “A Vision for Thriving Communities, Renter Power and Racial Justice.” It comes just as Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar reintroduced her Homes For All Act.
