On Inauguration Day, Women of Color Took To DC Streets

FEATURING ANGELA ADRAR – Just as Donald Trump was being sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, massive mobilizations were unfolding on the streets of Washington DC on Friday. Among the hundreds of thousands of people that had converged to express their disgust with the new president were activists with the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance. Women of color led street actions in front of the Department of Energy and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Their 75-foot banners called attention to the struggles for clean air, land, and water. On inauguration day I spoke with one of the women who was there.
