FEATURING JOHN HOCEVAR – A number of industries have taken advantage of the coronavirus crisis to give themselves a new lease on life. Some call this disaster capitalism, or just plain exploitation of our fears. The plastics industry is one such sector of the economy.
Facing numerous state and local level plastic bag bans the big businesses that rely on byproducts of the climate-change causing petroleum industry are pushing back. Studies and op-eds claiming that a ban on plastic bags fuels the coronavirus are popping up all over the place.
