Supreme Court Splits on DACA/DAPA, Leaving Immigrants Shocked

FEATURING KARLA CANO – The Supreme Court’s recent 4-4 vote on President Obama’s immigration-related executive orders DAPA and DACA has shocked undocumented Americans and their families. The split ruling means that a lower-court decision holds. That decision determined that Mr. Obama’s authority in crafting the orders was unconstitutional.

Once there is a new Supreme Court justice to replace the seat vacated by the late Antonin Scalia, the two programs may be ruled on once more. But for now, the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who had been relying on the programs are in disarray.
