FEATURING MICHAEL WALDMAN – This year, for the first time in 50 years, the US will hold a Presidential election without a fully functioning Voting Rights Act. After the Supreme Court gutted Section 5 of the VRA in 2013, a number of states moved to change the rules. Arizona’s recent primary election demonstrated just how disastrous the aftermath of the Court’s decision has been, with documented cases of voter disenfranchisement.
It has long been assumed that Americans have the right to vote. But now, as per the title of Michael Waldman’s new book, we’re in the middle of a serious “Fight To Vote.”
