Threshold: Emergency Responders on the US-Mexico Border

FEATURING IEVA JUSIONYTE – The US-Mexico border is more politicized today than in recent memory. With President Donald Trump’s rallying election campaign cry to “Build a Wall,” he has banked on the criminalization of immigrants and traded on racist stereotypes. As a result the practical impact on the border has been deadly.

A former emergency responder at the US-Mexico border writes in searing detail how our policies have resulted in serious injuries and deaths at the border with little to no impact on the actual reasons why people are attempting to enter the US, or how they finally make it through.
