Trump EPA Allows Toxic Coal Ash Pollution to Continue

FEATURING BRIDGET LEE – Donald Trump’s administration has decided that Americans don’t have the right to clean water. In a rule proposed by Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt, a set of 2015 protections against toxic coal ash dumping in waterways is under threat. Under the banner of states rights, Pruitt wants to give individual states the right to manage their own water safety in managing the disposal of coal ash.

Meanwhile the EPA just rejected a civil rights complaint that had been filed in 2013 by the residents of Uniontown, Alabama over coal ash contamination that they link to health impacts in their community. Uniontown is 90 percent African American.
