Trump Is Remaking Federal Courts to Favor Right Wing Extremism

FEATURING DAN GOLDBERG – Donald Trump is racing to fill federal district and appeals court judicial vacancies as fast as possible – at a much greater pace than his predecessor President Obama was able to do. Unsurprisingly, Trump’s judicial nominees are so far to the right that he is effectively remaking the federal courts system to favor his party’s extremist agenda. They are also, unsurprisingly, mostly white and mostly male.

Despite his inability to rack up legislative wins, Trump’s judicial nominations, which are immune to Democratic filibustering and thus are sailing through the process and being appointed. This means the GOP is likely to have many legal wins in federal courts for years to come. Today we’ll go through some of the nominees’ records.
