UN Environment Assembly Hails Resolution to End Plastic Pollution

FEATURING CONRAD MACKERRON - The United Nations Environment Assembly, in a little-noticed move passed a historic resolution in early March to pave the way for a legally binding international treaty ending plastic pollution. Inger Andersen, Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme called it, “a triumph by planet earth over single-use plastics,” and “the most significant environmental multilateral deal since the Paris accord.” Global plastic pollution has increased dramatically in recent years just as plastic recycling has been shown to be largely a sham.
