FEATURING GERMAN LOPEZ – The Washington Post on Thursday published a leaked transcript of a phone call between Donald Trump and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto where Trump reportedly dismissed the state of New Hampshire as “drug-infested den.”

New Hampshire is one of a number of states in the US deeply impacted by an epidemic of opioid addiction. Opioids are a class of narcotics that include heroin and fentanyl and the numbers of Americans dying from opioid use has dramatically increased outpacing deaths from guns and car accidents in 2016.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu has described the situation as, “one of the worst health crises this state has ever experienced.” Yet the federal government has done little to address the situation.
