Zan, Zindegi, Azadi–Woman, Life, Freedom–in Iran

FEATURING ANONYMOUS - Protests in Iran are going strong, coalescing around a simple demand captured in the words, “Zan, Zindegi, Azadi,” which translates into “Woman, Life, Freedom.”

The massive movement was triggered by the mid-September death of a 22-year old Iranian woman named Mahsa Amini in police custody. Amini had been jailed for reportedly flouting Iran’s strict dress code for women.

Now, as Iran’s government is facing its most serious crisis of legitimacy to date, there are reports of a potential dissolution of the so-called morality police. Meanwhile the government has been executing protesters and threatening others with execution.
