In these dark times when conservative extremist forces are filling the vacuum of failed liberal centrism with vitriol, repression, and capitalist dystopia, hope only lies in getting organized to fight back. There is no other option:
We can try to ride it out and hope we remain personally unscathed.
Or we can join the tide of resistance and build new systems to replace the crumbling edifices of institutions that haven't worked for a very long time.
Here, to offer you options galore about who is doing what, how, and why--and how you can participate, is my newest project: Rising Up For Justice, a half-hour weekly show bringing you into bold, unfiltered conversations with the organizers, activists, and experts fighting for a more just world. (Don't worry, my regular show Rising Up With Sonali will continue as usual!)
Each week, I'll dig into the strategies and stories that fuel real change, from the big picture to the front lines, with a profile of a single organization in the fight for justice. This week's debut episode will focus on Beating the 2-Party System with Jane Kim from Working Families Party.
