FEATURING SARA HUTCHINSON RATCLIFFE – The issue of abortion is looming large during the Senate confirmation hearings of Judge Amy Coney Barrett for the U.S. Supreme Court. That is because for years the anti-abortion movement has sought to overturn the critical reproductive rights issue in the court and conservatives have taken aim at the Supreme Court’s seminal ruling of Roe Vs. Wade.
Now, as a member of a fringe Catholic group called People of Praise, Barrett’s religious views on abortion are under scrutiny even though Republicans have denounced Democratic attempts to draw attention to them.
