FEATURING CONNIE HUYHN – Eclipsed by the bombshell testimony of President Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen, progressive members of the Democratic party on Wednesday unveiled a major bill expanding the Medicare program to cover all Americans.
Democratic Representative Pramila Jayapal of Washington state gathered with hundreds of supporters to announce the introduction of the highly anticipated Medicare-for-All bill. The legislation has a whopping 107 co-sponsors in the House.
Public support for such a proposal has been surging among members of both parties. But politicians and media analysts have continually thrown cold water on efforts to expand Medicare saying it would cost too much. What are the prospects for Jayapal’s bill?
