FEATURING CHRISTINE NEUMANN ORTIZ – Democrats have lost several key Senate seats with Marco Rubio beating his rival Patrick Murphy in Florida, Todd Young beating Evan Bayh in Indiana, and Rob Portman beating Ted Strickland in Ohio. Democrats Tammy Duckworth won her Senate race in Illinois against Mark Kirk, Chuck Schumer retained his New York Seat… and as of this recording other races remain too close to call. The GOP has retained control of the House, which was widely predicted.
As Trump and Clinton continue to battle it out, one thing has become clear early on in the voting process: Latinos have accepted the challenge presented by Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric, and showed up in huge numbers to vote. Puerto Rican voters in Florida and Latino voters in Nevada in particular have made their voices heard clearly enough to make an impact.
