FEATURING DR. BRITTNEY COOPER – In her new book writer and academic Dr. Brittney Cooper shares the moment she was told her lectures were “filled with rage,” but that it was “the most eloquent rage ever.” It took some years for her to see her rage as a “superpower” and she explores that journey to find her voice and focus her anger in her book “Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower.”

Today, in the era of Donald Trump and resurgent white supremacy, voices like those of Dr. Brittney Cooper’s are more important than ever. Here is a small taste: “America needs a homegirl intervention in the worst way,” she writes. “So in this book I am doing what Black women do best. I’m calling America out on her bullshit about racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, and a bunch of other stuff.”

Dr. Brittney Cooper, Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Africana Studies at Rutgers University. She is co-founder of the Crunk Feminist Collective and has written for The New York Times, Washington Post, Salon, Ebony.com, and The Root.com. She also writes a popular monthly column on race, gender, and politics for Cosmo. Her new book is called ‘Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower’.
