FEATURING JENIFER MCKENNA - As states like Texas roll back people’s reproductive rights and specifically, the right to an abortion, a new report by The Alliance: State Advocates for Women’s Rights & Gender Equality, hones in on a little-known, but pernicious front in the abortion battle. Anti-abortion groups for years have funded so-called Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs), benign-looking store-front approximations of clinics that lure people in who suspect they might be pregnant, and instead push anti-abortion, religious ideology onto them. The study focused on nine states and found that many of these CPCs receive public funding with little to no government oversight.
