Speakers include:

  • Prof. Robin D G Kelley, Distinguished Professor and Gary B. Nash Endowed Chair in U.S. History at UCLA. Dr. Kelley wrote the foreword to Talking About Abolition.
  • Dortell Williams, incarcerated essayist serving his 36th year of incarceration without parole in California. He is currently earning his Master of Arts through California State University, Dominguez Hills, and is founder of the nonprofit organization Taming Trauma.
  • Ivette Alé Ferlito, abolitionist movement leader, and Co-Founder and Executive Director of La Defensa, one of 12 leaders interviewed in Talking About Abolition.
  • Matthew Solomon, Director, Writer, and Producer, whose abolitionist documentary Reimagining Safety will be featured at the event.
