FEATURING SARINA PRABASI – Tuesday March 22nd was marked as World Water Day by many around the world including here in the US. The White House organized a private, invitation-only event. But another alternative water event took place at the same time that organizers called an alternative “People’s Summit” in New York.
Speaking at that event was my guest Sarina Prabasi, Chief Executive of Wateraid, a global organization that just released its latest report entitled, “Water: At What Cost? The State of the World’s Water 2016.” In it, Wateraid finds that 650 million people around the world do not have proper access to water. In 16 of the worst affected countries, 40% of the national population lacks access to a clean water source. And, women and girls are the most impacted all over the world.
