FEATURING ANDREA RITCHIE - It’s been more than 2 years since the largest social movement in the U.S.s history mobilized to demand justice for racist police brutality. An estimated 15 million and 26 million people took to the streets of cities across the nation and alongside the rallying cry of “Black Lives Matter” was “Defund the Police.”
Very quickly though, establishment pundits decided that while demanding racial justice was now deemed acceptable, it was still too radical to demand a defunding of police.
But activists working hard for years to reimagine a police-free vision of public safety have continued making their case.
