FEATURING TINA VASQUEZ – The Washington Post has reported that immigrant minors are being held in detention longer than is legally allowed. And, the Southern Poverty Law Center together with the ACLU of Louisiana has launched a lawsuit over the prolonged detention of hundreds of asylum seekers.

Immigration Reporter Tina Vasquez of Rewire.News has found that some women in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) are shackled while giving birth and even separated from their newborns. Pregnant women are also being criminalized for seeking asylum.
