FEATURING SARAH ANDERSON – As Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama wrap up a high-profile weeks-long process of voting to join a retail workers union, Senator Bernie Sanders last week shone a spotlight on the absurd inequality that American workers experience. Senator Bernie Sanders, chair of the Senate Budget Committee last week introducing a hearing on inequality in the United States. He had invited Jennifer Bates, an Amazon worker, to discuss the union efforts in Bessemer, Alabama, as well as Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Bates accepted the invitation, but Bezos did not. Also invited to speak at the hearing was my guest Sarah Anderson.
