FEATURING MARJORIE COHN – Attorney General William Barr on Tuesday testified at a remarkably caustic House Judiciary Committee hearing, appearing before lawmakers for the first time in a year. Barr, who has been accused of politicizing the Justice Department like no other AG in recent years, faced angry Democrats who accused him of mischaracterizing peaceful protesters as “violent rioters,” and justifying the deployment of federal officers in cities like Portland. Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal in particular challenged Barr on taking a hypocritical stance of ignoring law-breaking Trump supporters while targeting liberal activists and the public.
