FEATURING STEVEN BRINT – The United States has historically been known for its quality higher education system, with people from all over the world flocking to US colleges and universities for degrees – myself included. Government-subsidized institutions of learning in particular, were meant to deliver world class education to all Americans, regardless of income, and affirming the idea of a meritocracy. But increasingly, even state universities and colleges are becoming inaccessible to low-income students with ever-increasing fees and tuition. Now, a new ‘Study called why-big-public-colleges-are-increasingly-dominated-by-wealthy-students.’
