Why Did North Carolina Just Pass A Hugely Discriminatory Anti-LGBT Bill?

FEATURING SHAUN KING – No sooner have Americans declared victory in a major milestone for LGBT rights with the success of the marriage equality movement, when the backlash began. The latest epicenter of the backlash is the state of North Carolina where a bill named the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act was just passed.
State lawmakers held a special session on March 23rd – something they haven’t done in 35 years – to pass the law before Gov. Pat McCrory signed it. The bill was apparently written in response to a measure that the city of Charlotte passed to protect the rights of the LGBT community.
