FEATURING MARY BOTTARI – The Guardian newspaper has just published a set of secret documents that it obtained revealing one of the best examples of how corporations and wealthy elites buy political influence. The so-called John Doe files are documents from an investigation in Wisconsin that was never completed, into the campaign financing of Gov. Scott Walker’s recall election.

The documents reveal that Walker, who survived the high-profile recall effort, solicited large donations from wealthy friends, who in turn made checks out to a group called the Wisconsin Club for Growth. The Club in turn gave Walker’s campaign the money.
