FEATURING JA’MAL GREEN – As we continue our coverage of The People’s Summit in Chicago, Illinois, we turn next to a local voice in the Chicago-area who has been active on the matter of police violence. Ja’mal Green is a young Black Lives Matter activist who, in the course of protesting the police killings of Laquan McDonald and others, was arrested and prosecuted for assaulting an officer. Green, who has also been an outspoken critic of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, endured months of legal battles in what many saw as a punitive action for his activism. I spoke with Ja’mal Green at The People’s Summit.
