FEATURING VALERIA RUIZ – News reports emerged on Thursday that President Donald Trump was planning to cancel the DACA or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that Barack Obama had put into place. Hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants, who call themselves “Dreamers,” have enrolled in the program over the years, turning over information about themselves to the government. DACA enabled them to live and work in the US without fear of being torn from the place they consider their home country.

But a number of Republican-dominated states have threatened to sue the federal government if Trump does not cancel the plan by September 5th. By the time some of you are hearing or watching this program, DACA may have already been canceled.

Over the years Trump has expressed a variety of responses to DACA, flip flopping dramatically on whether he would cancel it.

That was Trump saying wildly different things about DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program over the years. House Speaker Paul Ryan has defended DACA however and this is what he had to say during a recent radio interview about it. PLAY PAUL RYAN VIDEO.
