FEATURING PABLO ALVARADO - It has been more than a month since the devastating Eaton Fire in Southern California’s Altadena that led to the loss of more than 6,000 family homes and 17 lives in a mixed income, mixed race, historically black community. The deadly fires swept through a region at the same time as migrant workers were bracing for the second Donald Trump administration to launch an operation rounding up and deporting them. 

The National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) which runs the Pasadena Community Job Center, had been preparing for the on-slaught of anti-immigrant policies from the incoming Trump administration. The group launched fire relief efforts while also conducting “Know Your Rights” trainings all over the nation against ICE raids.
