FEATURING MELISSA HOPE DITMORE - President Joe Biden recently proclaimed January 2023 as “National Human Trafficking Prevention Month.” According to an announcement on the U.S. State Department’s website, trafficking “undermines the rule of law, robs millions of their dignity and freedom, enriches transnational criminals and terrorists, and threatens public safety and national security everywhere.”
But, what Biden and the U.S. government have avoided mentioning is how deeply the American economy relies on trafficked human labor.
