FEATURING  NANCY BEAULIEU - For years now, indigenous leaders have organized resistance to the Line 3 pipeline that cuts through Northern Minnesota. The pipeline, run by a Canadian oil company Enbridge, would carry 700,000 barrels per day of dirty tar sands oil from Canada. Indigenous leaders say the project violates treaty rights and to that end they have organized a major gathering along the pipeline route from June 5th through 8th saying they have, “put out a call for people in all parts of the country to converge on Minnesota and engage in direct resistance.” Leaders like my guest are calling on the Biden administration to step in and cancel the Line 3 pipeline.
