Momentum Builds for “Green New Deal” for Cities

FEATURING KANIELA ING – Just days before President Biden convened a major virtual climate summit of world leaders and pledged to lower carbon emissions, House Representative Cori Bush of Missouri introduced a climate-friendly piece of legislation together with New York’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called the Green New Deal for Cities. Ocasio-Cortez also reintroduced her original Green New Deal resolution in the House together with Senator Ed Markey who has sponsored the Senate version. Both lawmakers first introduced the GND Resolution two years ago.
