FEATURING ABBY MAXMAN - A new report by Oxfam examines the startling increase in global inequality during the course of the coronavirus pandemic. Inequality was already a serious problem worldwide and here in the United States, with rich elites amassing obscene amounts of wealth while the working poor increasingly struggled to subsist. But over the past couple of years, the pandemic has fueled an ever more widening gap.
According to the Oxfam report Inequality Kills which was released on January 17, “a new billionaire is created every 26 hours while inequality contributes to the death of one person every four seconds.”
