Progressive Democrats Approve of Unqualified Ben Carson to Lead HUD

FEATURING LARRY GROSS – The Senate Committee on Banking this week unanimously approved neurosurgeon and former Presidential candidate Ben Carson to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Eleven Democrats joined their Republican counterparts in approving Carson, who is as inexperienced in government as President Donald Trump. The Democrats included progressive stalwarts Elizabeth Warren and Sherrod Brown.

Carson will now face a vote by the full Senate, which he is expected to easily win. What does it mean for public housing around the nation to have at the HUD’s helm a man who knows little to nothing about public housing?
