FEATURING RAHUL MAHAJAN – The US-backed Iraqi offensive on the ISIS stronghold of Mosul has resulted in thousands of Iraqis streaming out of the battle-stricken city. It has been five weeks into what was meant to be the definitive fight to decimate the Islamic State. Iraqi forces backed by Kurdish Peshmerga are closing off roads and supply routes into Mosul. But there are also disturbing reports of how Iraqi residents of Mosul are being attacked while they flee.

Only weeks remain before President Barack Obama’s tenure ends. What the future holds for Mosul and the fight against ISIS under Donald Trump remains uncertain. What we do know is that former Presidential candidate and strong Trump critic Mitt Romney is now being considered as Secretary of State in the new administration.
